Thomas Langstroth Deep Beeswax Foundation Sheets x 10 – For Pre-Wired Frames
These high-quality beeswax foundation sheets are manufactured by Thomas Apiculture and cut specifically for use with pre-assembled, pre-wired Langstroth Deep frames.
Each pack contains 10 foundation sheets, measuring 20 × 41cm per sheet.
Each sheet measures 20 × 41cm and is intentionally slightly shorter than the internal dimensions of the frame. This provides the necessary clearance around the edges when positioning the foundation and embedding it onto the wires using an electric transformer.
Please note: these sheets are deliberately cut to this size and are not undersized or faulty.
Designed for pre-wired frames
Place the sheet over the frame wires and use a suitable transformer to briefly heat the wire. The warm wire becomes embedded into the beeswax, securing the foundation neatly within the assembled frame.
The clearance around the sheet helps prevent the wax from buckling or becoming distorted during fitting and when temperatures rise inside the hive.
Thomas beeswax foundation
Thomas Apiculture purifies, sterilises and casts its foundation at its specialist wax workshop in Fay-aux-Loges, France. The manufacturing process includes batch traceability and recorded sterilisation controls.
The foundation has approximately 780 cells per dm² and provides bees with a consistent worker-cell pattern on which to draw their comb.

Important compatibility information
These sheets have been produced specifically for pre-assembled Langstroth Deep frames that have already been wired. They are intentionally shorter at the sides to provide clearance within the frame during electrical wire embedding.
Please measure the internal space within your frames before ordering, particularly if your frames are from another manufacturer or use a different assembly system.
Storage and handling
Cast beeswax foundation can be naturally brittle, particularly when cold. Handle the sheets carefully and bring them to room temperature before fitting.
Store flat in a dry location at room temperature, away from frost, heat and direct sunlight. Natural beeswax may develop a pale bloom over time; this is normal and does not affect its suitability for use.
