Each full treatment uses 2 strips per hive.

• Strips are 210x40mm wide and therefore fit neatly between the frames without having to be cut or bent.
• The active ingredient is Amitraz which paralyzes the varroa mite causing it to fall off the bees.
• One single application of Apivar varroa treatment has efficacy of up to 99% and there are no temperature constraints as there are with most other varroa treatments. 
• It can therefore be used at any time of year, although supers must not be on the hives. 
• The strips should be left in for between 6 and 10 weeks, depending on the size of the brood and the time of year. 
• We would recommend a spring treatment of between 6 and 10 weeks or an autumn treatment of 10 weeks.

How to Use

• Simply place 1 strip for 5 frames of bees (usually 2 strips per brood chamber/full sized hive). A single application corresponds to a full treatment.
• Hang between brood frames
• Leave in place for 6–10 weeks
• Remove after treatment period

When to Treat

• Apivar can be used at any time of year (provided there is activity in the hive, as the treatment works by contact), and without temperature constraints.
• No need to monitor your thermometer and estimate temperature peaks throughout the treatment.
